Cherokee, Gaston counties see more violence

Cherokee County was again the scene of violence this weekend when a kidnapping resulted in a shootout.WBTV reports that 52-year-old Jerry Case kidnapped a Gaston, North Carolina family, and drove them to South Carolina. The victims escaped when Case stopped for gas. Police found him and a shootout ensued.
Now, Gaston County law enforcement agencies are investigating Case, who was on parole for murder.
A Cherokee county sheriff’s deputy suffered mild injuries in the shootout.
Cherokee County citizens are still recovering from a killing spree in the county that left five people dead –and ended in a shootout in Gaston, North Carolina.
