O-Royals finish first half on high note

The Omaha Royals were held to just three hits in the first eight innings, but a home run from Brian Buchanan turned everything around for Omaha as they beat New Orleans 3-1 in 10 innings.
Royals’ starter Lenny DiNardo combined with Doug Waechter and Carlos Rosa to hold the Zephyrs to one run on three hits while striking out thirteen, but the lack of offense looked like the Royals were headed for another one run loss.
However, after Buchanan’s fifth shot of the year, Omaha scored two more in the 10th on sacrifice flies. The Royals won their first extra inning game in 12 tries this season, and won for just the seventh time in one run games.
