Saltdogs win a slugfest in Sioux City

The Lincoln Saltdogs beating the Sioux City Explorers 14-8 to pick up their first win in the second half of the season. The game got off to a wild start in the first three innings.
The Saltdogs scored six runs in the first inning, only to see that lead slip away after Sioux City tied it with three runs in the first and second innnings. After Lincoln went up 8-6 in the third, Sioux City tied it back up.
The Saltdogs went on top in the fourth scoring three more on a Brandon Jones sacrifice fly and Shea McFeely following two run double.
Jones hit two home runs and a double and had five RBIs. Outfielder Josh Burrus and first baseman Phil Hawke were named as starters for the North Division All-Star team. The 2009 American Association All-Star Game takes place Tuesday, July 21 in Grand Prairie, Texas.
