Omaha wins first series since early May

Kyle Davies, Dusty Hughes and Greg Atencio combined Omaha’s second straight shutout win over Albuquerque, 9-0 on Tuesday afternoon at Rosenblatt Stadium The O-Royals took three of four from the Isotopes to win their first series since early May against Nashville.
Davies is now 2-0 since being sent down to AAA and he extended his scoreless innings streak to 14 innings after going six in this win. The O-Royals broke the game open with five runs in the sixth inning. Tommy Murphy led the offensive charge with an RBI double in the fourth and a two run homer in that big sixth inning. Murphy has been on a tear the last two weeks hitting over .400 to drive his average up 38 points.
Despite the O-Royals having 31 losses on the year, they’ve shutout the opponent 11 times this season.
