Saltdogs drop rubber game to Ft. Worth

The Lincoln Saltdogs lost 8-3, failing to win their first road series at Fort Worth. Lincoln drops to 11-21 on the season.
Fort Worth jumped on Lincoln starter Jim Paduch (2-3), scoring four runs in the bottom of the first inning. The Cats added a run in the fourth, and Lincoln got on the board in the fifth on Steve Alexander’s RBI single. Fort Worth added two more in the bottom of the fifth and a another in the top of the sixth. Lincoln scored a pair of runs on an RBI single by Ernesto Gonzalez and a run-scoring groundout by Phil Hawke in the ninth.
Lincoln now travels to Pensacola for a three-game weekend series against the Pelicans, with game one set for Friday night at 6:35pm. Righty Jarrett Gardner will get the start for the Saltdogs.
