Thornton lead NU with two All-American honors

The Nebraska men finished 17th overall and the NU women 62nd at the NCAA D-I Outdoor Track and Field Championships that wrapped up this weekend in Fayetteville, AR.
Nebraska senior Kirkland Thornton made history this weekend for NU track and field by becoming the first Husker to earn earn All-America honors in both the 110- and 400-meter hurdles at the same NCAA Championship meet.
Thornton finished 5th in the 400 meter hurdles on Friday, then came back on Saturday just making his second All-American honor with an 8th place finish in the 110 hurdles.
Other Huskers who took home All-America honors include: Nicholas Gordon (long jump), Bjorn Barrefors (decathlon), Epley Bullock (high jump), and Seth Burney (pole vault).
