O-Royals remain winless in extra innings

The Omaha Royals are now 0-6 in extra inning ballgames and lost their 12th one run ball game of the season, (most in the PCL) as the Round Rock Express beat Omaha 3-2 in 10 innings.
Marc Saccomanno delivered a two-out single for the game winner in the top of the 10th inning. Manager Mike Jirschele handled his pitching staff well. Omaha left-hander Bruce Chen, normally a starter came on in relief of Luke Hochevar in the third inning and pitched seven shutout innings while allowing just three hits and a walk while striking out eight.
Hochevar threw just 33 pitches and was watched closely because he is scheduled to start on Sunday for Kansas City. Hochevar was charged with two runs, but his ERA still remains a nifty 1.50. Chen has pitched well and has allowed one earned run over his last 22.1 innings (0.40 ERA) to drop his ERA to 3.64.
