Bruning brings up suicide of boy abused

Prosecutors and law enforcement are gathering in downtown Lincoln to learn about stopping sexual predators on the internet. Attorney general Jon Bruning says the conference is timely after the recent suicide of a man Omaha that was in the public eye after he allegedly had an affair with the Omaha mayor’s chief of staff when he was 14.
“I spoke with (the father of the boy) whose son Brad killed himself after making these allegations. Brad had a two year sexual relationship with Matt Samp. Was raped by Matt Samp for two years.”
The boy came forward years later with his story. Bruning admits the internet is a large place and they have to stay one step ahead of the predators looking to meet children.
