The Omaha Royals’ continued to struggle in the late innings on Thursday with a 4-3, 10-inning loss to the Sacramento River Cats at Rosenblatt Stadium.
The O-Royals jummped out in the first inning as J.R. House and Cory Aldridge drove in runs. Tug Hulett homered in the fourth to put Omaha out in front 3-0. The River Cats answered with two in the sixth and one in the ninth and 10th.
Eric Patterson went 2-for-5 with two RBI, including the go-ahead single in the 10th for the River Cats. Greg Atencio took the loss for the O-Royals. Starter Bruce Chen took a no-decision, allowing two runs, one earned, in seven plus innings.
Game two of the four-game series is tonight at Rosenblatt Stadium.
