Neb. Wesleyan eliminated from NAIA baseball

Fresno Pacific rallied from a three-run deficit to knock off Nebraska Wesleyan 9-7 in an elimination game at the opening round of the NAIA Baseball National Championship in Sioux City, Iowa. The Prairie Wolves finish their season 28-13.
The Sunbirds were down 7-4 but scored three runs in the top of the seventh inning to tie it. Sophomore Tyler Pryor led off the inning with his second home run of the game. Justin Keeney followed with a one-out single and advanced to third after a double by Dwight Nixon. Both players scored two batters later off a two-base error on a ball hit by Joey Norwood. Nebraska Wesleyan reliever Cory Hilgenkamp (7-3) pitched out of a bases loaded jam to avoid further damage.
Fresno Pacific went ahead in the top of the eighth when Case Rigby hit a one-out single, advanced to second after a wild pitch and scored on an RBI double by Nixon. The Sunbirds added an insurance run in the ninth when Norwood scored on a bunt single by Andrew Douglas.
The Prairie Wolves had 11 hits, two each by Hilgenkamp, Max Hubka, Jeremy Peters and Bryon Janata.
