Lincoln native named NAIA Ind. pitcher of the year

Nebraska Wesleyan is making news in softball as well as their baseball team in the NAIA tournament.   Alysia Wittmaack has been named the Division III Independents pitcher of the year.  The Lincoln native went went 13-8 with a 1.85 earned-run average and four shutouts. Her 192 strikeouts shattered the Wesleyan season strikeout record by 68.
Wittmaack broke the record back on April 14th when she struck out 15 batters in a complete game victory in game one at Mount Marty College to lead the Nebraska Wesleyan softball team to a doubleheader sweep that day.  From that point on, she continued to add to her record.
