Lincoln marathon breaks record

With mostly cloudy skies for most of the race, it was perfect conditions for the record number of runners for the Lincoln Marathon and half-Marathon on Sunday.
The event drew a record, 6,558 runners. Winning the marathon on the men’s side was Vermillion South Dakota native Matt Dewald. Just five weeks of training after hernia surgery did not hold Dewald back as he finished with a winning time of 2:25.37.
On the women’s side, Des Moines, Iowa native Ashley Tousley won with a time of 2:50.06.
