NU softball holds off Creighton

The Nebraska softball held on for a 3-1 win at Creighton after the Bluejays made a big run in the bottom of the seventh.
The Huskers were up 3-0, but a NU error kept CU alive. With two outs, Creighton cut the lead to 3-1 with an RBI single before the Jays had the tying runners on second and third with two outs.
Lincoln native Bailey Dawson hit a 3-2 change-up to deep left field, but senior Darcy Rutherford, an Omaha native, with her back against the wall in left made the catch.
Nebraska snapped a four-game losing streak to Creighton and improved to 33-15 on the season. The Bluejays fell to 31-14 with the loss.
Senior right-hander Molly Hill earned the win, not allowing an earned run. Julie Brechtel homered to give Nebraska a 1-0 lead in the second and Crystal Carwile came hit a two-out, two run single.
