O-Royals Drop Second Straight

The Omaha Royals dropped a second straight one run decision to the Oklahoma City RedHawks 5-4 Thursday evening at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark.
The O-Royals scored first for the third straight game of the series. Omaha got on the board in the top of the first when Tommy Murphy singled and scored on a base hit by JR House. The O-Royals extended the lead when Travis Metcalf hit a solo home run in the fourth inning.
In the fifth, Omaha starter Bruce Chen walked Max Ramirez and surrendered a one out single to Greg Golson. Duran hit a 1-0 pitch to the RedHawks bullpen and gave Oklahoma City a 3-2 lead. The RedHawks would add a pair of runs in the fifth to build a three run lead.
Omaha managed to tally two runs against Oklahoma City’s bullpen. Cory Aldridge hit a solo home run off of Warner Madrigal to lead off the seventh, and the Royals notched an unearned run on Derrick Turnbow in the eighth after a RedHawk error.
The O-Royals have dropped the last two of the four game series and will look to salvage a split when the series concludes at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark Friday night.
