Senior right-hander Molly Hill was named the Big 12 Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday, just minutes prior to earning the win in Nebraska’s 10-0 five-inning victory over Iowa State.
Hill was 3-0 record against Big 12 competition, including two upset wins over 20th-ranked Texas. She started all four games going 27 innings. She threw 442 pitches in four days. In those starts she allowed just 19 hits while holding opponents to a .198 batting average.
The award was the second of the season for Hill and the third of her career. Hill and her Husker teammates host Iowa State on Thursday at 5 p.m. at Bowlin Stadium.
