Husker WR Paul suspended

19 year old Nebraska wide receiver Niles Paul was suspended for the rest of spring practice after being pulled over Sunday morning on suspicion of DUI. Paul failed a field sobriety test.
He was also charged with driving with a suspended license and being a minor in possession of alcohol. In a statement released by Bo Pelini he said, “I am aware of the situation involving Niles Paul, and have discussed it with him. Niles has been suspended from the remainder of our spring practice, including Saturday’s Spring Game.”
Sophomore wide receiver Curenski Gilleylen said the suspension of Paul in this final week will create opportunities for he and the younger receivers. “It opens up some doors for some people to show coach Gilmore (receivers coach Ted Gilmore) what we can do.”
The athletic department says there are still 9,000 tickets remaining for Saturday’s game. For more on the Paul story and on the NU defense, click on our reportĀ 4-14-report-on-paul courtesy of Sean Callahan of HuskersIllustrated.com
