Pelini and staff get raise

Nebraska athletic director Tom Osborne surprised many yesterday when he announced that head football coach Bo Pelini would be receiving a $750,000 raise and an additional year was being added as well stretching Pelini’s agreement through 2014.
Pelini’s new contract will now pay him $1.851 million making him the seventh highest paid coach in the Big 12.  Pelini’s nine assistants also received raises totatling $2 million combined.
The Huskers did not practice on Monday, but Pelini did release the following statement.  “Working for Coach Osborne is a great situation, and as I said when I was hired, it is an honor to be here at Nebraska as the head coach. I hope to be in this position for a long time and help get this program back to the top of college football.”
Here is the list of Big 12 coaches and their salaries, followed by Nebraska’s assistants.
