Spotters watch nasty weather

Spotters continued to watch storms crossing U-S highway 77north of Beatrice, just before 5 pm.  Gage County Emergency Management Coordinator Mark Meints says spotters were out in the northern part of the county.  He says no reports of a tornado were received in connection with the Cortland area storm that did the hail damage.

Northwestern Gage County and southeastern Lancaster County were placed under a tornado warning late Monday afternoon. Shortly after, a tornado warning was issued for eastern Lancaster County, and portions of Otoe and Cass Counties.
In Beatrice, there was a report of a roof taken off home next to a lawn shop in west Beatrice. The roof of a shed just southwest of Beatrice was blown off by high winds.
