Nebraska sports round up

Here is a quick recap of some of the sports stories you may have missed this weekend starting with college baseball and high school volleyball.
Oklahoma State pitcher Tyler Blandford held NU to three hits in eight innings and struck out 11 as the Cowboys beat Nebraska 6-3 on Sunday avoiding the Husker sweep.   
Creighton could not complete the sweep at home of Indiana State losing 8-2.  Indiana State took control of the game in the fourth inning on Ryan Strausborger’s two-run homer.  The Sycamores added two runs in both the seventh and eighth innings to put the game out of reach.
The River City Juniors volleyball team qualified for a national tournament this summer in Miami after going 11-0 at the Colorado Crossroads national qualifier.  The River City Juniors are made up of 
seven juniors and three sophomores from the Omaha area, went 11-0 in the 106-team field.
Down to its final strike, the Nebraska softball team rallied to tie the game in the seventh inning, score twice in the ninth and then hold off a rally by 19th-ranked Texas A&M to pull out a thrilling 3-2 victory in nine innings at the Aggie Softball Complex on Sunday afternoon.
