Lethal Injection bill fails to advance

The lethal injection bill has failed to advance out of the judiciary committee.  The bill received four of the five voted needed to send the bill to the floor of the legislature for debate. After use of the electric chair was found unconstitutional, this was meant to be the means for executing those on death row in the state. Currently, there is no legal way to put someone to death. Senator Steve Lathrop reportedly says the death penalty has flaws in Nebraska and those flaws need to be worked out.
