Husker, Creighton women accept WNIT bids

The Nebraska women’s basketball team has a first-round bye in this year’s WNIT and the Creighton women will take on UC-Riverside on Saturday in their first round WNIT game.
The Huskers (15-15), one of 16 teams with an opening-round bye, will face the winner of Wednesday’s game between Southern and New Mexico. The time, date and or whether NU will play a home game has yet to be announced.
The Huskers played New Mexico early in the season on November 29th and lost 62-51.  Nebraska, on the other hand, won five of its final seven before dropping a first-round game to Kansas on Thursday in the Big 12 tournament.
Speaking of Kansas, should Creighton win their first round game, they will travel to Kansas.  They too lost to the Jayhawks 59-58 at home back in December.
