Hastings beats Concordia, advances to semis

Hastings College (Neb.) outscored Concordia University (Neb.) 41-37 in the second half to move into the semi-finals of the 2009 NAIA Div. II National Basketball Tournament with the 69-65 victory.
Concordia University double teamed All-American Lindsay Ducey throughout the game and the Broncos Kim Faimon picked up the offensive slack with 18 points. Ducey finished with 14 points as the Broncos finished hitting 24-of-32 free throws, a majority coming down the stretch.
TaLisa Krejci led the Bulldogs with 15 points as Whitney Stichka added 14 points.
Hastings becomes the first team to punch a ticket into the semi-finals to take on the winner of the College of the Ozarks versus Dickinson State game. Semi-finals begin Monday evening with Hastings to play at 8 p.m.
