The NAIA, D-II national tournament tips off today with the women playing in Sioux City, Iowa and the men’s tournament taking place in Point Lookout, Missouri down in the Ozarks.
On the women’s side, #18 Hastings behind first year coach Jeff Dittman takes on #15 College of Idaho at 1:45. 8th ranked Concordia Bulldogs go up against Taylor, Indiana at 10:15.
On the men’s side, the Bellevue Bruins, last year’s tournament runner-up takes on Mount Vernon Nazarene at 4pm. You think the Huskers are undersized. The Bruins don’t have anyone taller than 6-5.
Hastings is one of three women’s programs to win back to back national championships winning in 2002 and 2003, while Hastings has won the most titles with three.

Last year’s runner-up and qualifying as an at-large team, Bellevue brings experience and a strong veteran nucleus. With seven seniors on the roster, the Bruins look to improve on their 22-8 season record. The national runners-up last season, BU has now won 20 or more games in nine straight seasons. The Bruins have been piling up the points averaging over 84 points, the most at the school since the 1998-99 campaign. Kyle Prochaska heads a four-prong scoring attack with 13.9 points and 10.9 rebounds.
