Baylor beats Nebraska 65-49

Cold shooting doomed the Nebraska Cornhuskers right from the very beginning.  They battled back a couple of times in the first half to keep the game close, but Baylor pulled away in the 2nd half for a 65-49 win in the opening game of the Big 12 tournament.
The stat that jumps out.  Paul Velander, one of the Big 12’s more consistent three point shooters went 0 for 10 (0 for 8 on three’s) and finished with just three points.
For the game, NU shot just 31.5%.  Baylor built a couple of early leads in the first half, but each time Nebraska would respond.  However, the in the second half the game would get away.
Coming out of the break, NU was down 30-27, but Baylor opened with a 10-2 run in the first five minutes to go up 40-29.  Curtis Jerrels was tough today.  He shot 8 of 10 including 3 of 4 from three point range to finish with a team high 19 points.  Dunn LaceDarius had 18.
Ade Dagundaro who turned out to be the Husker’s most consistent scorer finished with 21 points.
