Bellevue men, Hastings women get at-large bids

Bellevue University will take on No. 10-seeded Mount Vernon Nazarene of Ohio in a first-round game Wednesday at the NAIA Division II men’s basketball tournament in Point Lookout, Mo.
The contest is scheduled to start at 4 p.m. Unseeded Bellevue is 22-8, and Mount Vernon Nazarene is 23-8. The winner will advance to a 10:15 a.m. second-round game on Friday, March 13, against Iowa Wesleyan (20-10) or No. 7-seeded Oregon Tech (28-5).
The quarterfinals are scheduled for Saturday, March 14, the semifinals will be played Monday, March 16, and the championship is set for Tuesday, March 17, at 8:50 p.m.
The Hastings College women’s basketball team learned that it will be making its ninth straight appearance at the NAIA Division II national tournament, set for March 11-17 at the Tyson Events Center in Sioux City, Iowa.
Hastings, leads all participating schools with 25 all-time tournament victories, will play the College of Idaho (29-4) in the first round of the tournament, Wednesday at 1:45 p.m.
