Huskers hang on for road win at CU

The Cornhuskers were up by as much as seven with under a minute to go and almost let this one slip away, but NU holds off host Colorado for a 55-53 in Boulder.
The Huskers could not take care of the basketball, turning it over a season high 18 times, but the defense had their fare share of creating opportunities as well in a pretty poor offensive effort.
NU struggled at the free throw line shooting just 3 of 8 in that final minute after Colorado hit a three pointer to pull to within four after Steve Harley put NU up 52-45 with a couple of free throws.
The Huskers were hot in the first half shooting 53%, but then went scoreless the first seven minutes of the second.  What helped was that Colorado could only outscore the Huskers 5-1 during that stretch.
From that point, NU went on an 18-7 run to open up their biggest lead of the game to turn a two point deficit into a 46-37 lead.  Harley and Ryan Anderson led the team with 12 points each.
The Huskers will host Texas on Saturday, who has lost two home games in a road following last night’s 69-65 loss to Missouri.
