Balanced Huskers take care of K-State

Paul Velander hit six 3-pointers and scored a tied a career high 20 points and the Nebraska defense forced Kansas State into a  25 turnovers.  The Huskers win easily 73-51
The Huskers improve to 12-4 on the season and 2-1 in Big 12 play, earning Huskers their largest margin of victory in a conference game since 2004.
NU shot 50.0 percent on the game, including 58.3 percent in the second half. Velander was 6-of-10 on his three attempts and Cookie Miller was a perfect 3 for 3. 
Miller finished with 15 points and was the only other Husker in double figures with Velander. 
NU came up with nine steals and forced a total of 25 Kansas State turnovers.  NU outscored the Wildcats 34-11 in points off of TOs. 
Nebraska returns to action on Wednesday, when the Huskers travel to Norman, Okla., to take on the Oklahoma Sooners. Tip off is set for 8 p.m. and the game will be televised on ESPNU.
