A college student from northeast Nebraska will miss class most of next week, but he has a good excuse. Mike Dailey will be in Washington D-C to witness to the inauguration of Barrack Obama as our 44th president.
Dailey, a native of South Sioux City, says he thinks the trip fits well with his education track. He sees the journey to the nation’s capitol as both a resume-builder and an opportunity to learn about the government.
He’s is a senior at the University of South Dakota, studying contemporary media. Dailey says he’s confident the event will have a huge impact on him. He says, “Not only is this going to be the first African-American president but they say there’s going to be record crowds out there, so I think this is just going to be a huge, huge moment and event in my life.”
