The UNO men’s basketball team got a season-high 29 points from Michael Jenkins to hold off Truman State 89-78, on Wednesday night at Sapp Fieldhouse. The win improves the Mavericks record to 10-3 on the season and 4-2 in the MIAA.
Truman took their first and only lead with 10:50 to go in the first half at 18-17. The Mavericks went on a 7-0 run to go up 25-18. They led 44-38 at halftime.
In the second half, Truman State was persistent and closed to within five points on a three-pointer from Banks Estridge with 12:32 to go. He led the Bulldogs with 21 points including 4 three pointers.
The Mavericks return to the road on Saturday, January 10 to face Central Missouri at 3:30 p.m. The game may be heard live on 1620 The Zone beginning at 3:20 p.m.
