Governor Dave Heineman won the bet. Nebraska’s Governor bet against South Carolina’s Governor on the outcome of the Gator Bowl – the winner would receive naming rights on two donations to people in need in both states. Nebraska Cattlemen will donate 400 pounds of Nebraska beef to the People’s City Mission in Lincoln. South Carolina Ag producers will also donate products in a local bank. With Nebraska’s win over Clemson in the Gator Bowl, both donations will be made in Governor Heineman’s name. South Carolina’s Governor also lost a bet with Iowa Governor Chet Culver with Iowa’s win over South Carolina in the Outback Bowl.
