Children in Crisis group nears solution

The third Children in Crisis work group is not meeting because of the weather, but Senator Amanda Mcgill says the legislation they are creating is starting to take shape.
“We know right now that we are going to pursue creating an access point throughout the regions of the state to ensure families have one place that they can call or go to, to get the help they need.”
The access points would be hot lines parents in crisis could call to talk with a mental health professional. Mcgill says the recommendation for parents in crisis to call 211 is not what’s needed, she calls 211 nothing more than a glorified phone book.
