Huskers headed to Gator Bowl

The Nebraska Cornhuskers are heading to the Gator Bowl on New Year’s Day to play the Clemson Tigers from the ACC.  Head coach Bo Pelini honored to accept the invite.
The Tigers finished the season 7-5 winning four of their last five games.  Dabo Sweeney was the interim coach during their run after head coach Tommy Bowden stepped aside.  He was just named the permanent replacement a week ago.  Pelini, like many of the NU assistants are familiar with many of the Clemson players and knows this will be a tough matchup.
Alright, as far as the rest of the Big 12,  Oklahoma beat Missouri 62-21, the first NCAA Division I team to score over 60 points in five straight games, moves onto the National Title Game to take on Florida.
Texas who has been whining about not getting into the title game still gets a BCS bid.  They’ll play in the Fiesta Bowl against 10th ranked Ohio State on January 5th.  I think we’ll see Texas make a big statement in this game.
Kansas will play Minnesota in the Insight Bowl in Tempe Arizona on New Year’s Eve.  Oklahoma State will play Oregon in the Holiday Bowl, December 30th in San Diego and  Missouri plays Northwestern on the 29th in the Alamo Bowl in San Antonio.
So that gives the Big 12 six bowl teams.  2 BCS games and three matchup against the Big 10.
