Gator Bowl tickets on sale right now

The Clemson Tigers have already accepted a bowl bid to play in the Gator Bowl on New Year’s Day.  While nothing can be made official until after the Big 12 Championship game, the Huskers have game tape on Clemson and now athletic director Tom Osborne is encouraging fans to start buying tickets for the Gator in advance.  Tickets are $50 apiece.  Ticket info

The Huskers are slowing getting back into the swing of things.  They practiced on Wednesday and will practice again tomorrow.  Secondary coach Marvin Sanders said that while they were a little rusty, the effort and focus that the players bought into from day one is still there.
I don’t know if I would call it much of an advantage, but Sanders said he recruited a lot of those players on defense and keep this in mind, Clemson’s defensive coordinator resigned at the end of the season, so while they may be in transition, Sanders knows there is talent on that side of the ball.
Since we don’t have a game this Saturday, let’s go back to that Friday win, in particular the first quarter 53 yard touchdown pass Mike McNeil caught from Joe Ganz that allowed Ganz to break the single season passing record.  McNeil said his job was easy.
McNeil talked about how the tight ends have increased their speed and hands work over the summer and if he had his choice, he’d rather have a slower linebacker cover him than a safety.
