A Sidney man has been arrested in one of the biggest drug busts in city history. Sidney Police Chief Larry Cox says 43-year-old Robert Thurow Jr. was taken into custody Tuesday night after a raid on his trailer home west of Sidney netted 104 marijuana plants and $17,100 in cash. The Western Intelligence Narcotics Group (WING), DEA, Cheyenne County Sheriff’s Office and Nebraska State Patrol executed a search warrant on the trailer Tuesday after WING was tipped about a marijuana growing operation. Thurow was arrested on four felony drug charges and is being held in the Cheyenne County Jail on no bond. The case is being forwarded to the Cheyenne County Attorney for local prosecution and the U.S. Attorney General’s Office in Omaha.
