Governor pushes college program

In state students, whose parents don’t make a lot of money, can get the financial help they need through College Bound Nebraska. That program is being touted by NU President JB Millikan and Governor Dave Heineman.
“In Nebraska we have one of the top five high school graduation rates in the country. But we’re just barely above our average oncollege going, we need more students to go for their own success, for their own future, but also to attract those higher paying jobs to Nebraska.”
The program has been around for awhile, but has been expanded to help even more families that cannot get Pell grants, because their yearly earnings were just above the accepted level.
