Authorities believe they’ve busted a drug ring between Sidney and Ogallala. Sidney Police Chief Larry Cox says three Sidney men, 43-year-old Brian Christofferson, 38-year-old Raymond Borges and 29-year-old Samuel Wilkins were all arrested Wednesday night. After a routine traffic stop at 13th and Maple, Christofferson was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and driving with a suspended license.
An investigation after the traffic stop led to Borges’ arrest on charges of possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver, and delivery of methamphetamine, while Wilkins was cuffed for aiding in consummation of a felony and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Those arrests led the investigation down I-80 to Ogallala, where WING agents, the State Patrol, D.E.A., and Keith County authorities took three men into custody on felony drug charges. Those men have been identified as 61-year-old Juan Ramos, 50-year-old Genaro Dorantes and 53-year-old Rodolpho Pulido.
Cox says a “substantial amount” of methamphetamine was found involving the Sidney arrests, but isn’t releasing an official amount until formal testing and weighing is complete. Cheyenne County Sheriff Darrell Johnson says all three Sidney suspects are being held in the Cheyenne County Jail without bond as of Thursday night.
