Despite any last minute changes on final reading, Senators appear satisfied with changing the Safe Haven Law with a 30 day age limit. This comes as a 15 year old is dropped off at a Grand Island Hospital. Most senators agree that the next group of legislators need to take another look at Safe Haven in January. Changing the law to a 30 day age limit will stop the current flow of teenagers into Nebraska Hospitals. However, many Senators want the issue of teens in trouble addressed next session. By law the special session must last until Friday – seven days. That means we could see legislators check in Thursday and Friday and do nothing else.
