After a round about discussion on what age limit should be put on children who can be dropped off, under the safe haven law, a preliminary decision has been made. Lawmakers have decided a child may be no older than 30 days to be dropped off at a hospital under the law. State Senator Dianna Schimeck says she will likely reintroduce her sunset amendment to have the bill die June 4th. That way the 101st legislature will have to come up with a new law. The decision made by lawmakers will still need two more rounds of debate.
