Nebraska-Omaha makes D-II playoffs

Half of the NCAA Division II Super Region 4 Football Bracket appears to be a mini MIAA tournament, as the conference had three schools selected for the playoffs — all on the same side of the draw.
MIAA champion Northwest Missouri State (10-1, 9-0 MIAA) will try to make their fourth straight appearance in the national championship game, and as a No. 2 seed will get a bye into the second round.
The Bearcats will face the winner of the game between Pittsburg State (10-1, 8-1 MIAA) and Nebraska-Omaha (7-3, 6-3 MIAA), which will be played Saturday (Nov. 15) at Brandenburg Field/Carnie Smith Stadium. Kick off is set for noon, CST.
The Gorillas have won five in a row since a 35-10 loss to Northwest in Arrowhead Stadium on Oct. 4. One of those wins was a 35-28 Homecoming triumph over the UNO Mavericks Oct. 18.
The Mavs have won the last three games since the loss at PSU — two of which came on the road.
PSU and UNO have played each other twice in the Division II playoffs (2000 and 2001), with each school winning once on their home field.
