Time to focus on KU

We’ve covered the debacle in Oklahoma, we’ve talked about the anger issues of head coach Bo Pelini.  Here we are on Thursday and while the Husker team has tried to put everything behind them from last week, we haven’t really talked about the Kansas Jayhawks.
The Jayhawks figure to be right in the thick of the Big 12 north battle at the end of the year.  They’re 6-3 overall, 3-2 in the north and lead the Huskers by a game in the standings.  Quarterback Todd Reesing is fourth in the Big 12 with 293 passing yards per game.  One of his favorite targets is  sophomore Dezmon Briscore.  He has 54 catches, just about one in every four of Reesing’s completions go his way. He’s sixth in the Big 12 with 795 yards.
One part of the KU game that has evolved from their spread offense is the running game.  Junior Jake Sharp average 5.3 yards per carry, they don’t rely on him, but when they use him he’s been effective.
The Huskers banged up a big this week.  Offensive tackle Lydon Murtha still a question mark.  They hope to have him practice today and Pelini also said Phillip Dillard is getting better, but won’t play this week.
News from around the Big 12, kind of a shocker.  K-State coach Ron Prince fired after two plus season.  K-State 1-4 in Big 12 play this year.  Prince was 16-18, he’ll finish out the year.
