College basketball roundup

The Creighton women’s basketball team beat Nebrasaka-Omaha 93-68.  CU received quite a scare when point guard Chevelle Herring hurt her ankle. 
Herring returned and finished with 13 points, but another injury would have put CU in a bind.  They have already lost their leading rebounder from last year, Sam Schuett to an ankle injury for the entired year.
For the Mavs, they will next play in their season opener on the 17th against Nebraska-Kearney.  The Lopers will take on the Huskers tonight in Grand Island, a final tune up for Connie Yori’s Nebraska team. 
Doc Sadler’s Huskers may go with a five guard lineup in their Friday exhibition against Chadron State.  His tallest player 6’9 Steve Chapman still hasn’t fully recovered from knee surgery.
