Nebraska’s House delegation all voted against the 700 billion dollar bailout of Wall Street. First District Representative Jeff Fortenberry said it was a better package than the original, but rejected the idea on a couple points.
“First is this situation as dire as predicted… and second is this construct, this bill, this this type of government intervention with its huge expenditure and taxpayer exposure, the correct approach?”
Fortenberry’s opponent, Democrat Max Yashirin agreed with the vote but claimed Fortenberry only took sides at the last minute to see which way the winds blow.
