Saltdogs manager to resign

The Lincoln Saltdogs are expected to make the announcement official today that manager Tim Johnson will resign.
Johnson missed 29 games this year due to health reasons but came back for the end of the year and nearly got the teams a second half division championship.  Johnson has managed the American Association baseball team since 2003 and finished with a 298-245 record.
The Saltdogs finished fourth in the first half of the season with a 21-26 record. The team improved in the second half, going 29-19,  but still missed the playoffs.  The Saltdogs went through a lot of turmoil this summer as the roster turned over 31 players.
Johnson says he sees himself remaining in baseball, but not in the managerial role.  Here’s more on Johnson from his playing days.
