100-year-old Overton woman wins national award

A century-old Nebraska journalist is being honored today as America’s oldest worker. Mildred Heath of Overton is 100 years old and still working as a reporter for the weekly Beacon-Observer newspaper, based in Overton.
She started working for papers when she was in her mid-teens and estimates she now has 85 years of experience.
Heath is being recognized at the National Press Club in Washington, D-C, by the national, non-profit group Experience Works, which provides training and employment services to older workers.
