Boy Scouts given local hero award

June 11th is a day the Boy Scouts will never forget and John McMillan of the Boy Scouts Mid American Chapter says nearly $400,000 has been collected to help rebuild the Little Sioux scout Ranch in Iowa.
“We’ve made good progress restoring the camp, many if not most of the strees have been cut down and taken out of the area, we’ve rebuilt the Ranger home that was totally destroyed in that disaster.”
Four Boy Scouts died during the tragedy and a memorial committee is meeting to find the best way to remember their lives.  Nebraska LT Governor Rick Sheehy is awarding the Mid-American chapter the Local hero award.
