The public’s being encouraged to donate to a fun that’s been set up to help an Omaha police officer who was shot during a traffic stop last week. Officer Paul Latschar is listed in stable condition at an Omaha hospital after being shot several times last Wednesday. Doctors say he’s continuing to improve. The fund is now online at the Omaha Police Federal Credit Union and is designed to help Latschar’s family with expenses. The suspect in the shooting is 30-year-old Corey Allen, who’s charged with two counts of second-degree attempted murder and several weapons violations. Allen’s bond is set at $15 million.
