Former Husker Nicole Trimboli was named the MVP of the National Pro Fastpitch League Championship as she helped her Chicago Bandits to the league title.
In the championship game, Trimboli homered, walked and scored twice. In the three game series, Trimboli collected MVP honors after hitting .556 (5-for-9) with two homers, five RBIs, four runs scored and a stolen base. Trimboli is in her fifth season playing professionally.
Trimboli is entering her second season as an assistant coach for the Colorado School of Mines which is in the same conference as Chadron State and UN-Kearney. She was a three-time All-Big 12 selection for the Huskers from 2001 to 2004 and helped lead Nebraska to three Big 12 titles and the 2002 Women’s College World Series.
