Huskers begin game planning for WMU

The Huskers football season kicks off a week from today and the focus shifted to next week’s opponent Western Michigan during the team’s two practices on Friday.
The Huskers will narrow in on a Broncos defense that brings back 10 starters on a team that was second in the MAC in points allowed.  This will be a great test for Joe Ganz and the offense.  Western Michigan has the lowest pass completion percentage allowed, right at 50% and they’ll have all four of the defensive backs from last year including the son of former Husker Irving Fryar, all MAC defender Londen Fryar.
Offensive coordinator Shawn Watson said, “Their two corners (Fryar and E.J. Biggers) are really talented kids, their safeties (C.J. Wilson and Louis Delmas) are good players, and in that scheme of defense, in terms of the front and how that relates to the back end, the safeties are key components.  They very much have our attention and our respect.”
The Huskers will practice again on Saturday.
