Ralston repeals smoking ban

Smoke ’em if you got ’em in Ralston.  They Ralston City Council lifted the smoking ban Tuesday night.  Businesses there can now opt to allow smoking until the new state law takes effect next summer.  Earlier this year, the City Council banned smoking in all businesses except keno outlets, private clubs, tobacco shops and bars that did not serve food.  A lawsuit had been filed against the city saying the exemptions were unfair.  Councilman Jerry Krause says the city could have defended the ban or simply repeal the law.
