Man confesses to Nemaha County authorities

An Iowa man was found dead inside his home after another man made a confession of murder to authorities in Nemaha County, Nebraska. 44 year old Scott Reed walked into the sheriff’s office in Auburn Monday and told authorities there he had murdered a man in Council Bluffs. He told them where the man could be found. Council Bluffs police went to a residence at 13th and Avenue I and found the body of 68 year old man. Neighbors have identified him as Richard Griffin. Pottawattamie County authorities then issued an arrest warrant for Reed for second-degree murder. Neighbors of Griffin said that he had taken in another man hoping to turn his life around. Police believe that Griffin died of blunt force trauma.
